about

Marisa is a board certified health coach at Risely Health.

Marisa was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at 24, right in the middle of earning her master’s degree in speech-language pathology. It was an unexpected turning point—long before online communities or social media made it easier to find support. That season of life taught her resilience, curiosity, and how to truly listen to her body. It also sparked the passion that still fuels her today: helping others feel empowered in their health and well-being.

For more than two decades, Marisa worked as a speech-language pathologist, supporting children and families with patience, connection, and individualized care. Her work was always rooted in empathy—meeting people where they are and guiding them toward meaningful progress.

Today, as a board-certified health and wellness coach, she brings that same grounded presence and compassion to the people she works with. Her approach blends lived experience with deep listening, helping clients build confidence, understand their patterns, and navigate life with Type 1 diabetes with more ease and clarity.

Marisa lives in New Jersey with her husband and their two daughters, now 20 and 18, who continually inspire her to show up with purpose, presence, and joy.

She now specializes in exercise and blood sugar management, the connection between menstrual cycles and blood sugar management, decreasing stress, and pregnancy with Type 1 Diabetes.

For fun she loves to travel, boat, take long walks, and be with her family.
