about

Lindsey is a certified health coach at Risely Health.

Lindsey was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes on her first trip abroad to Germany at age 12. Though a scary experience for her and her family, it taught her the importance of having a solid support group and fortitude. Being diagnosed as a middle-school-aged girl with no other T1D friends felt isolating and it took her many years to shed the shame associated with her diagnosis.

At 27, Lindsey took an active charge toward reclaiming her health and sought to make diabetes work for her. After years of gaps in support from her healthcare team, Lindsey joined Risely’s Decide and Conquer Boot Camp. It was here that she learned more about the variety of factors that impact her diabetes and where she began to build her diabetes community. With a renewed outlook on her diagnosis, Lindsey knew she wanted to support others that experienced a similar disconnect with their diabetes management and empower them to have agency over their health. She is currently working towards her NBHWC.

Alongside coaching, Lindsey works as a Public Health Educator for the active duty military population. She also has prior one-on-one health coaching experiences with Sailors in the fitness and nutrition spaces. She has dedicated her educational and professional careers to building healthy communities and advocating for holistic approaches to wellness. Lindsey is passionate about supporting others and believes that everyone is an expert in their own life. She leads with compassion and curiosity, and employs a person-first approach in her coaching.

Lindsey lives in Virginia Beach, Virginia with her 10-year-old rat terrier, Kay. She loves to travel, work out at her local gym, spend time outdoors, especially the beach during the warmer months, and leads a virtual book club. In her free time, you’ll find her reading a murder mystery or singing along to Taylor Swift.
